Our History

Based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, KMS is a long-established Tulsa business with a reputation for honesty, integrity, and quality workmanship.  We began in the late 1970s with two engineers and a technician who had a vision of incorporating alternative energy applications in the heating, ventilating, and air conditioning industry.  

Darlene Adkins, an employee of the company for 13 years, acquired KMS in 2021 from its founders. The company is now 100% woman and minority owned. “It was very important to the founding owners that the company remain locally-owned, and I’m incredibly proud to continue honoring that legacy,” Adkins notes. 

We are now a premium service commercial and residential mechanical contracting firm handling every side of the HVAC process for both residential and commercial customers.  With over 40 years of experience, we have well established our expertise and knowledge of every side of the HVAC process.  Caring for our customers’ needs is truly the heart of our business!

As a design build mechanical contracting firm, we service the heating and cooling needs spanning from everyday residential HVAC systems all the way to some of the largest commercial buildings in Oklahoma.  We take pride in our professional integrity and in our highly skilled group of trained technicians.  We design, sell, install and service all types of heating and cooling systems including conventional systems, geothermal systems, water heaters, and much more.  We have always provided innovative solutions and continue to seek out new and inventive ways to bring comfort and value to our customers.
